The story opens with a nervous man. He starts telling a story about how he murdered a man. He says that he killed the man not because of money but out of fear. Fear of the mans blue eyes. On the 8th night of stalking the old man he decieds that it is time to kill the man. He stands still staring at the old man and then hears the old mans heart beat. worried that somebody might hear he murders the old man and dismatles the body and puts it under the floor bored. After he cleans up the mess he hears a knock at the door it was the cops. He leads the cops around the house even to the seen of the crime to talk. But then he hears the sound of the old mans heart. He thought that the cops could hear it to. Driven crazy by the sound he confesses to the crime.
